Giving Existing Vehicles an Electric Future.
Contigo’s electrification background includes converting suitable internal combustion vehicles to electric propulsion. A conversion is an engineering project: the existing vehicle, intended duty cycle and regulatory pathway determine what is feasible.
Start with the vehicle. Design around the duty cycle.
Feasibility assessment considers chassis condition, payload, routes, range needs, packaging space and the economics of extending the vehicle’s useful life.
Motorcycles, three-wheelers, selected passenger vehicles and commercial fleet vehicles require different architectures. Not every vehicle is suitable. A project assessment must establish safety, technical viability and a realistic approval pathway before implementation.

Integrating a complete electric system
Drivetrain removal is followed by electric motor and drivetrain integration, battery selection and packaging, power electronics and controller installation.
Vehicle electrical systems, charging interfaces and thermal management must work as one system. Mounting, protection, service access and electrical isolation are engineering considerations, not cosmetic modifications. Component choice depends on project requirements and specialist supplier availability.
Validation, safety & local approval
Testing must address mechanical integration, electrical and thermal safety, charging behavior and the intended operating conditions.
Local homologation, inspection and registration requirements vary. Technical feasibility does not guarantee regulatory approval. Project-specific validation and approval are required before a converted vehicle can enter its intended service.
A planned transition—not a universal conversion kit
For fleet owners, businesses and public-sector operators, conversion can be assessed alongside replacement and staged fleet renewal.
Planning should consider downtime, operator training, maintenance capability, charging access and total cost of ownership. Contigo evaluates the project as part of the customer’s wider fleet transition rather than promising a standard outcome for every vehicle.
